Breaking Ground Spring 2016

Dear Alumni and Friends,

BYU President Kevin J Worthen has announced that the $80 million needed to reach the fundraising goal for the new engineering building is finally in the bank. We are pleased and profoundly grateful that with the support of so many, this goal has been reached.

Personally and on behalf of the entire college community, I want to thank those who have donated. It has been a process that has involved many blessings. Alumni and friends of the college have stepped up in major ways, and other BYU colleges and departments have generously helped. Over the past three years donations from nearly 18,000 BYU alumni and supporters have been directed to the building. Construction will be entirely funded by donations.

Now in final planning stages, this beautiful new facility will include spaces that promote faculty-student collaboration, provide for team-based projects, facilitate cross-discipline interaction, enhance research, and promote industry partnerships. Pending final approval by the BYU Board of Trustees we hope to break ground in the March-April timeframe. We are excited for the future and invite you to continue to be involved in the college as this building becomes a reality.
